The hymn verse opens with, “When in our music God is glorified…”and with those words begins the mission of the Music Ministry of Covenant Presbyterian. Each member of the choir, bell choir and orchestra ministers to each other and to the congregation as they offer their spiritual and musical gifts to the overall Music Ministry. A variety of musical styles are used during worship each Sunday, and singers and instrumentalists provide solo selections at various times.

The Covenant Choir

For those who love to sing, the choir rehearses Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. The choir sings weekly at the 10:30 a.m. service and presents cantatas at Christmas and during Holy Week. They have also presented fully costumed musical dramas during Holy Week, such as The Living Last Supper and The Living Last Words. All ages are welcome and no previous experience is required. There are also opportunities for fellowship during the choir year through dinners and other social events.

The Covenant Ringers

The handbell choir has been ringing for many years and is open to youth and adults. Previous experience in a bell choir is not required, but a basic ability to read music and to count beats and measures is helpful. The handbell choir rehearses each Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. and generally rings on the second Sunday of each month. Each November they attend the Fall Festival of the Central OK Ringers and Directors.

The Covenant Chamber Orchestra

Organized in January 2011 with three members, the CCO has now grown to 17 regular members. The goal of the orchestra is to provide opportunities for young musicians to play on a regular basis with an organization and to improve their musical skills such as sight-reading, accompanying a choir, and playing solos in worship. No audition is necessary and membership in the church is not a requirement though the orchestra members are welcomed into all aspects of our community activities and worship.  It is also an opportunity for them to learn more about our church and about the Presbyterian Church while participating in our programs as part of our worship renewal plan.
